Lucinda brings a wonderful energy and a genuine love of learning to everything she does. With a strong background in physical fitness and over a decade of experience in the wellness space, she’s always been passionate about helping others feel their best. Now, with her own children grown, Lucinda is thrilled to open this new chapter and devote her expertise to birth work—a field she’s long admired.

Her personal journey includes both a birth center birth and a hospital birth, giving her a well-rounded perspective on the many paths a birth experience can take. Lucinda deeply believes that education and individualized support can make all the difference for families, and she’s committed to empowering clients with both.

A true fitness enthusiast, Lucinda finds ways to move her body every day, whether it’s through structured workouts or simply staying active with her love for animals and babies. She’s excited to blend her wellness background with her passion for birth, bringing warmth, encouragement, and a holistic approach to every family she supports.

Emerging Doula - Gabrielle Taylor

Labor Doula | Postpartum Doula | Newborn Care Specialist

I am a postpartum doula and newborn care specialist with over four years of experience guiding families through the sacred, transformative postpartum period. Though I became a certified birth doula in early 2025, my journey into birth work began long before—supporting friends, family, and clients through hospital births, home births, and every experience in between. I currently serve families within a 60-mile radius of Frederick, Maryland.

My passion for birth work is rooted in my own lived experience. I have personally navigated a homebirth transfer, an emergency cesarean section, and a hospital VBAC—journeys that have profoundly shaped how I show up for families. VBACs hold a special place in my heart, and these experiences have made me the birth advocate, educator, and compassionate support person I am today. I understand firsthand the power of informed choice, respectful care, and unwavering support during birth and postpartum.

My philosophy is simple: your birth, your values, your choices. I support families regardless of their goals—whether that includes a planned cesarean, a homebirth, a medicated or unmedicated labor, or something in between. My role is to hold space for you physically, emotionally, and educationally, helping you feel confident, informed, and deeply supported throughout your experience.

During labor, I use intentional movement and optimal positioning to support baby's journey through the pelvis. Drawing on principles of body awareness, gravity, and comfort measures, I guide families in using position changes to encourage fetal positioning and promote progress—all while honoring the birthing person's comfort, intuition, and autonomy.

I am currently pursuing my nursing degree to deepen and expand the care I provide to families. When I'm not engaged in birth work, you'll find me spending quality time with my sons and family, tending to my mini farm, and practicing and teaching aerial silks to local teens and adults.

Emerging Doula - Bria Comer 

Bria is a birth and postpartum doula, trained through DONA in August 2024. She has furthered her education by completing Dancing For Birth instructor training in October 2024, and is currently in training to become a Body Ready Method Pro. Bria has a wide variety of personal experience, including pregnancy loss, infertility, precipitous labor, home birth transfer, breech baby, emergency C-section...all of which led her to the birthing world!

Bria has been dancing since she was 4 years old, teaching dance since she was 15, and also became a licensed physical therapist assistant in 2018, immediately starting work in pediatrics. She has a vast understanding of how the body works and moves, and strives to help her clients use movement to help optimize the flow of the body to help birth unfold with as much ease as possible, and also help with reconnection to oneself postpartum. This might look literally like dancing in your preferred birthing location, and it also may look like calmly but fiercely digging into a deep connection with your own body and needs through your increased awareness of what is happening physiologically during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Bria also uses her 7+ years of experience working in pediatric PT to help guide your knowledge of normal first year gross motor milestones.

When Bria isn't working with doula clients or teaching dance, she loves to exercise, read, take her two dogs for hikes, and be with her husband and their two children!

Emerging Doula - Shannon Duir Sciortino

My passion for birth began the first time I saw a birth video as a young child. The power to bring a baby into the world seemed like magic. 

For a decade after finishing my graduate degrees in business and international development, I worked in the nonprofit world, where I focused on advancing equity, building communities of support, and promoting health. During that time, as my friends began having babies, I found myself deeply drawn into their experiences. I eagerly researched alongside them, listened to their birth stories, and showed up postpartum in whatever ways I could. My experiences with my closest friends empowered me to follow my heart and become a professional birth worker. 

In 2024, I completed my doula training with ToLabor and MaternityWise. Now after supporting many families, I know, without a doubt, that walking alongside birthing families is exactly where I am meant to be. My strengths lie in creating a calming birth environment, offering intuitive massage, and getting creative with positions to encourage labor progress. I work in collaboration with your birth partner to create the most supportive conditions for you. 

Pregnancy and birth are among life’s greatest adventures! We’re given opportunities to tap into strength, intuition, and connection to those around us and those who came before us. Yet, too many birthing people today feel isolated and disempowered. My mission is to change that. Through holistic, evidence-based, and deeply personalized care, I help families navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with confidence, courage, and love.

Originally from Colorado, I now call Baltimore home. Outside of birth work, I find joy in yoga, zouk dancing, hiking, cooking, and spending meaningful time with my family and friends.

Before stepping into birth work, I spent more than a decade as a 911 Police Dispatcher. Those years taught me how to stay grounded through intensity, hold space in uncertainty, and offer clarity when everything feels overwhelming. That steadiness is now woven into the way I support birthing families.

As a mother of four, and a bonus mom to two more, caring for others has always been the quiet thread running through my life. Doula work simply gave that calling a name.

These days, I bring a blend of childbirth education, newborn care knowledge, and lactation support to help families feel informed, confident, and deeply cared for. Whether I’m offering comfort measures in labor, supporting early feeding, or guiding you through the shifts of postpartum, my intention is always the same:
to make sure you feel seen, supported, and never alone.
